About summit Osteopathy

Founded in 2019, Summit Osteopathy is an osteopathic clinic operating in Shelley, Perth, WA.

Our Vision

Summit Osteopathy exists to empower people get the most out of life, with passion, joy and purpose.

Our Mission

We want to help patients realise their summit, no matter how big or small! We work to tangible goals that aim to improve function, empower and educate patients to instil them with confidence in their bodies!

We aim to create the best conditions to thrive- using osteopathic reasoning, evidence-based practices, patient education and in collaboration with a community of practitioners. We want our patients to feel in control of their bodies- educated and empowered, no matter their situation.

We’re measured in our approach in tailoring individual action plans to challenge patients to find their confidence in their bodies again. We're here to help ignite the spark for life that all too often fades when people have experienced pain for a long time.

Osteopathy

An osteopath is a hands-on manual therapist that employs the philosophy, “the body is a unit”. Osteopaths consider a patient complaint with unique attention to the complex interrelationships between the body’s structure and the way it functions.

We are interested in examining the global view of the body, regardless of the location of discomfort. Osteopaths focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function as one whole entity. It’s not abnormal for us to assess or treat your feet and hip mobility, even if you are complaining of lower back pain- the body is a unit!

We rely on and aim to restore the body’s self-healing and repairing mechanisms by advising patients on lifestyle, diet, stress management techniques and exercise/rehabilitation.

You may not have heard of an osteopath before, there are only 70 osteopaths practising in WA, as the only universities that teach the degrees are in the Eastern States of Australia. We’re usually included in most private health funds at a basic level of cover, but we’d encourage you to talk to your insurer before you come in so you get a better idea of your rebate.
