Over East, and indeed around the world, there seems a resignation that at some point, there’s a good chance you could get COVID. There’s plenty you can do to get organised incase of that event. Keep in mind that it’s not just you that will be affected, but also your housemates, intimate partners and household family members may be deemed close contacts, but may not be unwell!

If you are feeling unwell, have any symptoms of COVID, please get tested. Here is a list of testing clinics near you https://www.healthywa.wa.gov.au/COVIDclinics

Here are some things to have at home that are recommended by various governments in other Australian states.

  • Disposable medical gloves

  • Pain relief - paracetamol or ibuprofen

  • Your regular medications for a week

  • Hydration options, especially for children (i.e. icypoles)

  • Rapid antigen tests

  • Activities for a week for yourself and household members

  • Plan for your pets - ensure they have enough food, medications, and a way for them to exercise if you need to isolate.

  • Plan for someone who will be able to provide supplies to your door while isolating. Remember to ask for help!! People will be willing! They’ll need someone to help them at some point too!

  • Isolation can be mentally tough! Plan for a buddy system to check in on each other by phone, email, social media groups or text during times of need. Check out our resources on looking after your mental health! https://www.summitosteopathy.com.au/be-still-my-brain/be-still-my-brain
