Dr. Amanda Oosterweghel
Meet amanda!
We're excited to welcome Amanda to Wagin Osteopathic Service. Whilst this is Amanda’s first time to Wagin, she has been an experienced practitioner in Perth for quite some time! We have taken care to make sure Amanda has been provided with an overview of your case, alongside your clinical notes, so she is ready to hit the ground running, you won’t miss a beat!
Amanda graduated from RMIT University in Melbourne, completing her Honours degree with distinction. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from school-aged children through to older adults, and has a particular interest in helping people stay active and moving well throughout every stage of life.
Before becoming an osteopath, Amanda worked as a Myotherapist, giving her a strong foundation in hands-on treatment. She also incorporates dry needling where appropriate, allowing her to tailor treatment to each individual's needs. Amanda regularly treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including headaches, jaw pain, neck pain, shoulder injuries and low back pain.
Known for her warm, approachable nature, Amanda believes that the best healthcare starts with listening. As a parent herself, she understands the demands that family life places on the body and enjoys supporting patients of all ages to achieve their health goals.
Amanda has also completed additional training to become a qualified Perrin Technique Practitioner and is currently undertaking advanced training in the Perrin Technique under the guidance of Dr Raymond Perrin. This specialised approach may assist people living with conditions such as ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome), fibromyalgia, and some people experiencing ongoing symptoms following COVID-19.
Amanda has been keen to join us treating in Wagin for a little while, and we're delighted to have her joining us.
